Climate Change Homepage

This indicator framework provides a child- and youth-centred approach to understanding the impacts of climate change. It organises indicators across individual, community, political and environmental domains, recognising that climate change affects children and young people through their health, safety, education, housing, food and water security, participation, trust in institutions and access to healthy natural environments.

By pairing formal indicators with child-friendly language, the framework supports both policy use and meaningful engagement with children and young people. It also links outcomes to broader factors that shape resilience and vulnerability, and aligns with established frameworks including the Children’s Climate Risk Index, the Nest wellbeing framework, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Sustainable Development Goals.
